Description:

Benzylpenicillin Sodium is a beta-lactam antibiotic. Penicillin G Sodium is the sodium salt form of benzylpenicillin. It is a semi-synthetic. Benzylpenicillin Sodium has broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. The mechanism of action for bacteriocidal by inhibiting bacterial cell wall biosynthesis.

Penicillin G Sodium is effective against most gram-positive bacteria and against gram-negative cocci.

Contraindications:

Allergy to penicillins. Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the preparation.

Cross allergy to other beta-lactams such as cephalosporins should be taken into account.

NOTE: If Benzylpenicillin Sodium is administered in sodium-containing solvents to patients with renal failure or heart failure, there can be Natrium overload and/or heart failure. Incompatibilities:

Benzylpenicillin Sodium and metal iron-Containing formula should not be used together.

Penicillin G Sodium is also incompatible with the following substance:

Hydroxyzine, amphotericin B, cimetidine, promethazine, cytarabine, flucloxacillin, methylprednisolone.

Pharmacokinetic properties:
